Hybrid working models have become the de facto standard in today’s workplace. Employees will not be returning to the office five days a week. But research from Microsoft does show that over two-thirds of employees (65%) are craving more in-person time with their teams – especially after being homebound for the last two years.
Employees miss significant aspects of the office, such as collaborating and sharing ideas with peers, learning from other team members, and building relationships. And most people are ready to have a bit more separation from home-life and work-life. Going back into the office a few times a week seems like a fair trade-off when employees feel in control of their schedule and with the right technology and processes in place.
Organizations, too, are keen to see their workspaces utilized more consistently but in a way that offers a seamless employee experience when they work from the office.
How do you get your employees to return to the office feeling confident, safe, and productive in 2022?
No one wants to come back to an office if it does not feel safe or if the experience is disorganized or lacks transparency. Many office footprints have adjusted or shrunk. So, how can you facilitate a smooth return to your office?
