Future Fifty, the programme associated with Tech Nation have announced their list of 2018 members.
The programme from Tech City UK represents some of the United Kingdom’s top growth stage tech businesses. Gerar Grech, CEO of Tech City UK has said that,
“Future Fifty helps 50 of the UK’s most promising businesses to accelerate their growth and shows how Tech City UK, soon to be Tech Nation, can connect ambitious people and companies across the country”.
With the announcement of 26 late-stage companies in 2018, the total numbers of members, including alumni, now stands at 126. The programme has members in a range of sectors including data, analytics and cybersecurity Fintech Digital advertising and marketing Enterprise software SaaS EdTech App and Software Development as well as eCommerce and marketplace.
Five of these companies are IPOs on the London Stock Exchange, while collectively, the members have created 27,000 jobs in 59 offices around the world, and have raised over $5.5bn in the past five years.
While all 126 technology companies in the programme are at the top of their game, we have rounded up just some of them for you here:
1. Onfido
Onfido is an identity verification platform that helps over 1,000 companies ensure their customers are who they claim to be. Three checking products offered include Database checks, Document checks and Facial checks.
Founded by three Oxford University alumni, Onfido has received more than $60 million from top name investors like Microsoft and Salesforce, with a customer base that includes ZipCar and Couchsurfing.
2. ROLI
ROLI is a music technology company that makes a modular music creation system that opens up new possibilities for musical expression. These include sound design tools for composers to free apps for learners.
3. EPOS
EPOS is a point-of-sale software and hardware provider that automates small business banking. Founded in 2011, EPOS enables businesses to leverage both cloud computing and advanced technology to enhance business output, and have over 30,000 customer success stories to prove it.
4. Thread
Thread is an e-commerce company based in East London, that uses human stylists and machine learning to help men dress well without going shopping. They model their business around hassle-free shopping online that will soon open up to a female market too.
5. Love Crafts
LoveCrafts is an online community and marketplace for the crafts sector that was launched in 2012 by three motivated individuals, to build a community that supports, unites and inspires markers globally, where they can “connect, share and create”; combining traditional crafts in the digital age.
6. ClearScore
ClearScore, a leading FinTech business in the UK, launched in min-2015, and provides free access to credit scores and reports to over 5 million users, with a mission to aid people in managing their finances. By November 2015, they had won the Innovator of the Year at the Growing Businesses Awards, and in 2016, adding Innovative Product of the Year at the Techies to their tally, as well as two awards at the FinTech Innovation Awards.
7. Memrise Limited
Memrise Limited enables you to learn a new language with games, humorous chatbots and over 30,000 native speaker videos through 200 courses developed by leading linguists and presented within an iOS and Android-based app. Memrise have won Best App at the Google Play Awards in 2017 as we as the Best App
8. Firefly Learning
Firefly Learning is the online tool that brings together teachers, students and parents, with an ethos of “more time to teach, and more ways to learn”. The Firefly team combine the experience of teachers, technology experts and support professionals based in the UK, Singapore and Australia.
9. EDITED
EDITED have helped fashion retailers, since 2009, market the right product at the right price at the right time by giving the most important people in those businesses the information they need to trade faster, move products quicker and retail based on market statistics.
10. Click Travel
Click Travel reduce the cost and complexity of business travel management through the use of technology, offering reporting and analytics, credit accounts and single invoices, supplier management, policy compliance, and travel security. Clients include Adecco, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Talk Talk and Red Bull.
11. Big Change Apps
BigChange Apps is the paperless way to Plan, Manage, Schedule and Track any mobile workforce. The company specialises in call handling and CRM; planning scheduling and dispatch; mobile workflow, live tracking; health and safety; invoicing and finance; alerting; as well as reporting and performance. Clients include Silentnight, Hargreaves and Nixon Hire.
12. Condeco Software
And of course, where would a list of the top influential technology companies be without Condeco. (*Not showing any bias of course)
